S.E.A. currently serves residents of Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson and Tuscarawas counties in Eastern-Central Ohio.
The Society for Equal Access has two purposes:
Help individuals with disabilities live independently.
Serve the community by helping create an environment that is accessible for everyone.
These goals are accomplished through the following:
Provision of direct services to individuals with disabilities.
Provision of services to the community.
The Society for Equal Access has an affirmative action plan in operation which is supported by outreach efforts. Individuals with disabilities are eligible to become participants without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, age, educational attainment, or disability. Participants set and work toward fulfillment of self-directed independent living goals.
The provision of independent living services empowers individuals with disabilities, increasing the ability of these individuals to obtain needed information and services to enhance the opportunity for greater levels of productivity, in turn, resulting in higher levels of integration and inclusion in the mainstream of society.
